Job Description
- Provide friendly and efficient service to students, staff, and visitors in the school café
- Operate advanced coffee-making technology (no extensive barista skills required)
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, light snacks, and pre-prepared foods
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the café, including counters, seating, and equipment
- Restock supplies and ensure displays are well-presented and inviting
- Handle cash and card payments, following school protocols for secure transactions
- Assist with general kitchen duties, including basic food prep and cleaning
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations at all times
- Provide excellent customer service, fostering a welcoming atmosphere in the café
- Support occasional school events or functions as required
Qualifications
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a café, retail, or hospitality setting preferred
- Basic Food Handling Knowledge: Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices (Food Hygiene Certificate is a plus)
- Friendly and Professional Attitude: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students, staff, and visitors
- Cash Handling Skills: Familiarity with handling payments and working with point-of-sale systems
- Team Player: Willingness to assist with various tasks and collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow health and safety regulations consistently
- Adaptability: Comfortable using advanced coffee equipment (training will be provided)
- Reliability: Consistent punctuality and professionalism to support a prestigious school environment
