About The Ned:
The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.
The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. It has since expanded to include The Ned NoMad in New York, The Ned Doha, and Ned’s Club Washington DC. Each property is unique and tailored to it’s location, but the ethos of The Ned remains the same; to create a space for like-minded professionals to meet, work, and have a good time.
The Ned City of London, where this role is based, houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars, and 250 hotel bedrooms.
Reporting into the Hotel Director you will:
- Hold strategic and operational responsibility for the daily running of the Security department
- Maintain and manage a 24/7 rota to ensure consistent Security coverage for all areas of the business.
- Provide visible leadership whether that is representing the department at meetings, leading training, and being a recognisable presence across the operation
- Ensure all policies, training records, compliance documents and departmental checks remain accurate and up to date.
- Lead key Health & Safety and Fire Safety compliance activities, including scheduling training exercises, coordinating mandatory audits, and chairing the monthly Health & Safety Committee.
- Conduct periodic reviews of core documentation including the Fire Risk Assessment, Security Policies, Crisis Management Plan and departmental Risk Assessments.
- Act as the main point of contact for external agencies and stakeholders such as City of London Police, licensing bodies, the Fire Brigade, and insurers

What you can bring to the role:
- You’ll obviously bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the safety and security space
- You’ll have a proven track record of building, developing, and leading high performing teams, ideally with experience at a Head of Department level
- Your team are constant presences around both our guests and our team, so you’ll know how to blend the quiet calm expected of a security professional with the warm hospitality expected at The Ned
- You’ll have the ability to balance the strategic and the operational, equally comfortable when driving performance in our busy day-to-day or long-range planning and setting the strategy
- Our Head of Safety and Security is the driving force behind all of our standards, so you’ll need to relationship building skills and credibility to influence and hold people to account at all levels
