The role
At Burger King UK, we know great payroll isn’t flashy — but it is essential. Paying our people accurately and on time keeps the whole business moving, and we’re looking for a Payroll Coordinator to help make that happen.
This is a junior, admin-heavy role in a busy payroll team, perfect for someone who knows their way around payroll basics and enjoys working at pace.
What you'll be doing
You’ll support the smooth running of monthly and fortnightly payrolls for around 7,000 employees — so accuracy, organisation and speed are key.
You’ll be:
- Supporting end-to-end payroll processing across monthly and fortnightly runs
- Accurately inputting payroll data including bank details, SSP and statutory payments
- Making sure payroll data is right first time and submitted on time
- Working closely with the team to process changes quickly and efficiently
- Responding to payroll queries clearly, confidently and professionally
- Supporting manual calculations when needed
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation, HMRC rules and statutory requirements
No senior payroll responsibility here — but plenty of responsibility when it comes to getting the details right.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a payroll expert — but you do need to know the fundamentals and be comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in a payroll or payroll admin role, even if it’s six months or a year we need some experience for this one
- A working knowledge of UK payroll basics (pensions, SSP, PAYE, deductions)
- Confidence working with data and tight deadlines
- Experience in a high-volume or multi-site business
- A sharp eye for detail and a calm, organised approach
Fourth system experience is a bonus, but experience with other payroll systems is absolutely fine — we’ll get you up to speed.
How you’ll work
- Hybrid role, three days office based in London
- First few months in the office Monday to Wednesday
- After that, flexibility across three office days per week
Payroll has its busy moments, so flexibility around deadlines is important — but you’ll be supported by a great team who’ve got your back.
If you like your admin organised, your payroll accurate and your workday moving at a decent pace — this could be the role for you.
