Opening in 2026, The Standard, Lisbon marks our long-anticipated arrival in one of Europe’s most happening cities. Located at Palácio Santa Clara, the hotel rises above the colourful alleyways of Alfama—Lisbon’s most picturesque neighbourhood—offering front-row views of the river. Built atop the ancient College of St. Francis Xavier, which served as the Portuguese Royal Navy Hospital for over 200 years, the property is being reimagined to respect its heritage while looking ahead to a bold, unconventional Lisbon.

Anchored in food, music, art, and culture, The Standard, Lisbon brings our signature design and experience-driven philosophy to Portugal. With 170 guestrooms and 24 adjacent apartments, the expansive property features vibrant spaces for day- and nightlife programming, including a Guest Lounge, Bar, Restaurant, Café, Pool Deck, Rooftop, Event spaces and 24-hour In Room Dining.

As we enter the pre-opening phase, we’re now looking for an F&B Manager (Outlets Manager) who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos and play a critical operational role within our Food & Beverage leadership team.

Your Role

Our Restaurants, Bars, Rooftops and social spaces are legendary, and The Standard is synonymous worldwide as a shining beacon for nightlife and culture. As F&B Manager (Outlets Manager) at The Standard, Lisbon, you will work in close partnership with the F&B Director, acting as their deputy and taking ownership of the day-to-day operation of all Food & Beverage outlets across the hotel as we prepare to launch The Standard, Lisbon.

This is a highly operational, hands-on role with responsibility for performance, service delivery and guest experience across the Guest Lounge, Bar, Restaurant, Pool Deck, Rooftop, Events spaces, In Room Dining and Café. You will maintain a strong presence within the operation, ensuring standards are upheld, teams are supported and guests are hosted in true Standard style. Working alongside Floor Managers and Supervisors, you will oversee daily service, staffing levels and operational readiness, while supporting the F&B Director in translating strategic direction, commercial objectives and brand standards into the daily running of the business.

As part of the senior F&B leadership team, you will play an active role in recruitment, training and development, labour planning, payroll control and operational compliance to ensure productivity, quality and guest satisfaction are maintained at optimum levels.

With a diverse collection of outlets and 24-hour In Room Dining, this is an incredibly hands-on role requiring a strong operator who can lead from the front, remain calm under pressure and thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment. Your attention to detail and visible leadership will ensure every space is immaculately presented and consistently delivering an exceptional guest experience.

We are, of course, The Standard, and you will play an active role in hosting guests across daily service, events and nightlife programming, while working closely with the F&B Director and HR to build engaged teams that embody our culture and values. Do You Have What It Takes to Be Our F&B Manager (Outlets Manager) at The Standard, Lisbon?

This is not a ‘standard’ F&B Manager role. You will need stamina, passion and personality; be highly social, upbeat and confident; thrive under pressure; and enjoy being at the heart of a fast-paced, nightlife-driven hospitality environment.

A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a senior operational F&B management or Restaurant Manager role, ideally gained within a lifestyle hotel or complex multi-outlet hospitality business.

In addition to this, you may also have…

  • Strong operational experience managing multiple F&B outlets simultaneously
  • Previous Restaurant & Bar management experience
  • Experience acting as a deputy or second-in-command within an F&B leadership structure
  • Pre-opening hotel or restaurant experience
  • A solid understanding of high-volume service and labour management (experience of local portuguese labour laws)
  • Experience supporting events, nightlife and late-night operations
  • Strong training, coaching and people-development skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance service excellence and cost control
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
  • A flexible approach to working hours as this role will include evenings, weekends and occasional late nights
