Assistant Reservations Manager

Since 2006, Hawksmoor has been the UK’s home of ethically sourced, grass-fed beef, cooked over charcoal and paired with award-winning wines and cocktails. We’re proud to be a certified B Corp, one of the most sustainable restaurant groups in the industry, and to have raised over £1 million for Action Against Hunger — all while being recognised as one of the Best Companies to work for, year after year.

As Assistant Reservations Manager, you’ll support the Reservations Manager in leading the reservations and host team, ensuring every guest receives a warm, seamless and memorable experience. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the restaurant — combining people leadership, guest hosting and operational organisation. You’ll spend plenty of time on the floor welcoming guests, managing the flow of service and supporting the team, not sitting behind a desk.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Reservations Manager in the day-to-day running of the reservations and host function
  • Help lead and motivate the host and reservations team during service
  • Manage bookings, walk-ins and waiting lists to keep service flowing smoothly
  • Welcome guests, oversee seating plans and support cloakroom and arrivals
  • Communicate clearly with managers, floor teams and the kitchen to ensure seamless service
  • Step in to resolve guest queries and feedback with confidence and care
  • Deputise for the Reservations Manager when required

Who You Are

  • Experienced in reservations, hosting or front-of-house leadership in a quality restaurant
  • Naturally welcoming, organised and confident with guests
  • Calm under pressure and great at juggling multiple priorities
  • A supportive team player who enjoys developing others
  • Passionate about hospitality and creating brilliant guest experiences
Our Values

  • Welcome Everyone – We create warm, inclusive spaces where people feel genuinely welcome.
  • Work Hard and Be Nice to People – We set high standards and treat each other with kindness and respect.
  • Hit Hawksmoor Standards – We care deeply about quality and consistency, every day.
  • Keep Evolving – We stay curious, open to feedback and always looking to improve.

Benefits

  • 28 days’ holiday (including service charge)
  • Free staff meals on shift + 50% off when dining with friends and family
  • Paid overtime on salaries
  • Income protection & death-in-service cover
  • Paid annual volunteer days
  • Wagestream early wage access and financial wellbeing tools
  • Referral bonuses from day one
  • Exclusive savings on travel, shopping & experiences
  • Restaurant welfare budget for snacks, drinks & support
  • Full training and development with clear progression opportunities

We’re building a team that reflects the richness and diversity of the communities we serve. At Hawksmoor, we welcome everyone and believe in creating a workplace where individuality is celebrated, kindness is key and high standards are met together. If this role excites you but you don’t meet every requirement, please apply anyway — you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
