Searcys are looking for a Membership Secretary to join the team at the HAC.
The Members Secretary will focus on supporting the HAC members and their guests, across all areas and all types of events. They will be the fact of the HAC, and the Regimental and Members’ “go-to” person. This person will oversee the booking, planning and execution of all member activities and develop the member communications.
The HAC is quite unlike any other City event venue; a magnificent Georgian house set in a five-acre garden. This unique, historic London venue offers a wide variety of event spaces and an a unique out-door space nestled within the city backdrop.

Job Description
The Membership Secretary will ensure the smooth day-to-day management of all members’ areas in line with the defined HAC standards and member expectations.

Salary: Up to £45,000 pa
Key Responsibilities:
- To be Member focused at all times, by being visible, approachable and quick to solve problems and exceed expectations.
- To be responsible for delivering the members’ social events calendar.
- To be responsible for the booking, organisation, delivery and accurate billing of all regimental and member dining and events.
- To maintain bookings on the CRM system and ensure function sheets have all relevant and required detail on them.
- To meet and greet members on members’ events.
- To ensure a seamless and comprehensive handover to the supporting event manager.
- To attend and lead, from the Searcys side, the weekly regimental meeting and to issue notes and actions from this meeting, as necessary.
- To attend the weekly operations meeting and to lead on all member and regimental events.
- To attend the quarterly Sutling Committee meeting and implement member facing actions from this meeting.
- To be responsible for increasing member engagement across all areas.
- To build and maintain engaging relationships with all members.
- To proactively seek feedback from members and stakeholders, monitoring the Members’ Suggestions Book to continuously improve standards with a keen eye for detail.
- To be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the HAC’s humidor in accordance with the specified instructions.
- To produce the quarterly Searcys’ Members’ newsletter.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in member's Club venue or similar
- Thorough understanding of the event and meeting management process – conception to completion
- Meticulous organizational abilities; high attention to detail
- Concise and effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
- Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills
- Creative, positive energy, self-directed, amiable, and composed under pressure; helpful and humble
