Opened in October 2015, Hilton London Bankside represents the next generation of design-led Hilton Hotels. Each part of the property has been carefully created to reflect the fascinating history and ambiance of the surrounding area, combining the authentic urban grittiness and polished contemporary design.

Set in the heart of Bankside, just steps from some of London's most famous landmarks such as Tate Modern, Borough Market and The Shard, Hilton London Bankside is home to 292 stunning guest rooms including 25 bespoke suites which offer breathtaking views of the city skyline. In addition, the hotel brings a new neighbourhood eatery, OXBO Bankside to the area, alongside The Distillery, a cool and casual bar.

The hotel also features Bankside's largest and most exquisite Ballroom accommodating up to 700 guests’ theatre style or 500 in a banquet setting. With a private entrance, a 6-metre-high ceiling, dramatic chandeliers, a balcony and sweeping marble staircase leading to the Bankside Ballroom, this is a spectacular venue for any grand celebration, fashion show, awards ceremony, or corporate event.

Our award-winning, design-led hotel will be adding 76 beautifully crafted new rooms, bringing our total offering to 368 rooms by Q1 2026.

Job Description

The Director of Sales & Events is a Senior Commercial Leader responsible for driving revenue growth and strategy across five key segments: Corporate Transient, Corporate Groups, Leisure Wholesale, Leisure Group and Meetings & Events. This role requires a seasoned specialist with an elevated network of industry contacts and a proven ability to win high-value business.


The ideal candidate will set the strategic direction for both Sales and M&E teams, ensuring full alignment, integration, and execution of strategies that position the property as a leader in hosting major groups and events in the London Market.

Role in our Family

As Director of Sales & Events, key to your role:
• Provide strategic leadership across the Sales and M&E functions, aligning goals and priorities to maximize performance and revenue.
• Leverage an extensive network of industry contacts across M&E, Corporate, Wholesale and Leisure segments both in the UK and internationally.
• Develop and execute competitive strategies to aggressively target and win business from the competitor set.
• Ensure seamless integration of Proactive Sales and M&E activities, fostering collaboration between both internal and SHG teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.
• Partner with Hilton global and regional teams to identify and capture new business opportunities from key event clients and accounts.
• Partner with Senior SHG Leadership to drive Commercial change across the wider SHG organisation.
• Act as both a Hilton and SHG ambassador, positioning the property as the preferred destination for major events in the market.
• Extensive domestic and international travel, representing both SHG and Hilton Bankside.
• Deliver a proactive pipeline across all sales influenced segments.
• Oversight of credit / deposit balances from Groups and Events segment.
• Provide strategic oversight and coaching to ensure the proactive team consistently delivers against pipeline objectives, driving full adoption of Salesforce for transparent, datadriven performance management.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity to proactively adjust strategy and maintain a market-leading position.
• Manage HLB Sales/ M&E budget to include payroll, subscriptions, tradeshows and travel.
• Ensure rigorous ROI tracking and accurate reporting for all sales and event-related investments.
