Hospitality innovates and evolves every day and we are no different! From hotel refurbishments and new food and beverage outlets, to exploring asset management opportunities, the Strategic Finance Manager plays an important role in assessing opportunities in support of our strategic objectives.

Reporting into the Director of Projects and Strategic Finance, this role will partner with Hotel Finance Directors and other key stakeholders to develop financial models for new business opportunities, ensuring that the financial assessment is robust and supportable.

The Strategic Finance Manager will also be responsible for designing, implementing and leading a disciplined, data-driven post-investment review process that ensures long-term accountability for major investments, improves accuracy in forecasting and strengthens the quality of future business cases.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of driving best practice and a passion for continuous improvement to support the Director of Projects and Strategic Finance in delivering a strategic finance function that both partners with and supports the business. They must be a proactive self-starter with energy and enthusiasm to strive for success.

Key responsibilities

· Develop financial models for strategic initiatives and partner with the project business lead to financially assess opportunities
· Review potential partnerships / acquisitions / corporate finance opportunities
· Support the development of business cases to secure funding for capital investment projects
· Support the Head of Asset Management in optimising our estate, exploring lease restructuring and growth/development opportunities
· Collaborate with the FP&A department to ensure consistency of forecasting and budgeting for strategic initiatives and consistency with underlying assumptions
· Support the prioritisation of new project ideas by providing indicative financial impact assessment
· Collaborate across teams to support the delivery of a monthly project tracker for parent company
· Design and implement a post investment appraisal process
· Ad hoc project work as required, forming a key part of cross-functional team tasked with driving key strategic initiatives forward

What you’ll bring

· Qualified accountant with membership to a professional body (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
· 5+ Years Post Qualification Experience in Industry
· Advanced Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management
· Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively
· Ability to interpret the needs of the business and produce meaningful analysis for consumption by both finance and non-finance leadership
· Hospitality and Retail experience desirable but not essential
