WELCOME TO HOUSE BELFAST

Set in the heart of the Queen’s Quarter, House Belfast is a boutique hotel full of character, style, and personality. With 31 bedrooms, a buzzing bar and restaurant, and a much-loved event space, House Belfast is known as much for its vibrant social scene as it is for its warm Northern Irish hospitality. Whether it’s a weekend getaway, a cocktail with friends, or a memorable celebration, House is a place where the city comes together. We’re now on the lookout for a Deputy General Manager to support the leadership of the hotel and play a key role in shaping the next chapter for one of Belfast’s most stylish spots.

YOUR IMPACT

As Deputy General Manager, you’ll be a vital member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to drive success across all areas of the hotel. You’ll provide hands-on support in the day-to-day running of the operation, lead and inspire your teams, and ensure every guest leaves with memories as warm as a Belfast welcome. You’ll be a role model for our culture, stepping up when needed to take charge, and always keeping both our people and our guests at the heart of what you do.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER AT HOUSE BELFAST

  • Support the General Manager in leading the hotel, ensuring all departments (front office, housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance) deliver against guest satisfaction and commercial goals.

  • Take responsibility for the daily operation of the hotel, ensuring smooth coordination and communication across all areas.

  • Act as Duty Manager and take charge in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring continuity of leadership.

  • Lead, develop, and motivate department heads and team members, creating a positive culture built on RBH values and exceptional guest service.

  • Drive operational standards and consistency, ensuring quality, attention to detail, and compliance in every corner of the hotel.

  • Support the financial performance of the business through cost control, efficient labour management, and identifying revenue opportunities.

  • Champion a guest-centric culture, handling escalated guest feedback and ensuring issues are resolved swiftly and effectively.

  • Be visible in the hotel and the local community, supporting the General Manager in representing House Belfast with pride and professionalism.

  • Take ownership of key projects and initiatives that drive the hotel forward, from sustainability efforts to service innovation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in a senior hotel leadership role (Deputy General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar) ideally within boutique or lifestyle hotels.

  • Strong operational knowledge across multiple hotel departments with a proven ability to run day-to-day operations effectively.

  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of how to support profitability through revenue, cost control, and efficiency.

  • A natural leader who can inspire and motivate teams while building a culture of accountability and care.

  • Passion for hospitality and an eye for detail, ensuring guests receive consistently outstanding experiences.

  • Confidence to step up and make decisions, especially when deputising for the General Manager.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with guests, colleagues, and the local community.

From there, you’ll be guided through the next steps, which may include a Teams interview with our Operations Director, followed by an in-person interview and an opportunity to see the hotel in action. We aim to make the process engaging, transparent, and supportive, so you feel confident in choosing a future with RBH.
