Baker/Catering Assistant

Location: TauntonHours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 14:30 (30-minute unpaid break)Pay: £14.36 - £16.00 per hour (depending on PAYE or umbrella)Contract: Term Time Only + 2 INSET DaysStart Date: ASAP

Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school for a Catering Assistant (Baker) to join their dedicated kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for baking and a desire to contribute to a positive school environment.

• Bake and decorate approximately 200 cakes each morning.
• Assist with food preparation and service of hot and cold meals.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to students and staff.
• Support with cleaning duties including washing up and equipment maintenance.
• Occasionally serve meals at other schools (transport provided).

• Experience in baking or catering (school or commercial setting).
• A positive, proactive attitude and strong team spirit.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
