Middle Eight is a new, 180 room lifestyle luxury hotel with purpose in Covent Garden. Until recently, this address was home to one of the country’s foremost recording venues. The hotel reflects the performance culture of Covent Garden and adds to it through performance spaces of its own.

We are currently looking for a Food & Beverage Runner to join our Truly Talented team.

All work is carried out in line with the hotel’s, Company and brand guidelines and service standards.
• Complete all duties on food and beverage department checklists and address shortfalls in food and beverage department.
• Handle all guest requests efficiently and professionally, following Bar, Restaurant and hotel standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, emptying trash, and cleaning glassware.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are clean and in good working condition.
• Collect empty glasses and bottles from tables and return them to the bar or kitchen
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Help set up and break down the bar area before and after shifts or events.
• Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is a plus but not required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Protect personal data of guests and team members following GDPR and PCI training.
• Always ensure high standard of cleanliness in bar and restaurant areas.
• Report any issues to Bars Manager / Restaurant Manager and Director of Food and Beverage.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and report any damaged, dangerous or faulty equipment to the Assistant Manager / Bars Manager / Restaurant Manager.
• Deliver food and beverage orders from the kitchen or bar to guests in a timely manner.
• Ensure all dishes are presented correctly and match the order ticket.
• Assist servers and kitchen staff in coordinating service and managing table orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in service areas, including expediting stations.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and waitstaff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Remove used dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables between courses or after guests leave.
• Adhere to company rules on uniform and personal presentation standards.
• Always work closely with the waiters in order to have a smooth process in order taking and main away Bar Seats / Bar Tables on time.• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming bar environment.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and company policies.
• Customer Care
• Actively participate in creating an ongoing care culture using all hotel, brand training and initiatives.
• Always be friendly, courteous and helpful to guests and colleagues.
• Ensure guest requests are carried out in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
• Ensure that a good relationship is kept between all other departments, understanding other departments needs and the implication to the food and beverage department.
• Promote efficiency, courtesy and confidence within the Team.
• Have knowledge of all other facilities and guest services within the hotel.
• Always ensure the highest standard of (both internal and external) customer care is delivered.
• Actively seek verbal feedback from customers and act on feedback both positive and constructive.
• Handle any guest issues or complaints in a professional and hospitable manner. Ensure they are resolved and follow through using the HEART-H: Hear, E: Empathize, A: Apologize, R: Respond, T: Thank.
• Always display a pleasant manner, positive attitude and promote a good company image to colleagues.
• To be willing to go that extra mile for guests and colleagues.
• Actively be part of the team to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
