Contract: Part Time

Salary: £12.21 Per Hour

Shift Type: Days

Contracted hours: 20

Situated in a peaceful part of Crosspool in Sheffield, The Porterbrook Care Home provides high-quality Residential and Dementia care for up to 44 residents.

We are now looking for a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference by helping to create a clean, safe, and welcoming home for our residents. Your eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene will play a vital role in supporting their comfort and wellbeing.

What We Offer

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Contracted to 20 hours per week
  • Pension scheme, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

What You Will Do
As a Domestic Assistant, you will ensure all areas of the home are kept clean, tidy, and safe. This includes maintaining floors, furniture, and sanitary areas to a high standard, regularly removing waste, and managing laundry efficiently — including labelling and returning residents’ personal items with care. You will work closely with other team members, contributing to a warm and supportive environment for both residents and staff, while following all health, safety, and infection prevention procedures.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a team. Experience in domestic or care home cleaning is welcome but not essential — full training will be provided. A positive, friendly attitude and a focus on creating a pleasant, hygienic environment for residents are key to success in this role.
