Job Description

We’re looking for a fun, caring, and passionate individual to join our team as Front of House Team Leader at York’s sweetest hotel!

Reporting into the Front Office Supervisor, you’ll take a hands-on approach in leading the Front Office team to deliver unforgettable guest experiences from check-in to check-out. You’ll ensure every interaction reflects our brand standards and exceptional service, while supporting and inspiring the team to create a positive and engaging work environment. You may also assist our F&B team when required, depending on business needs.

You’ll receive full training, ongoing development and the opportunity to grow within a supportive and rewarding environment.

About Us

Hotel Indigo, York hotel is a unique and trendy hotel set in the heart of York. The hotel boasts 103 unique bedrooms, with a funky and trendy Restaurant and Bar named No.88 Walmgate.


The team is very passionate, enthusiastic, and very energetic! The culture in the hotel is very important, and that is; trying to deliver the Hotel’s goals and objectives whilst at the same time creating a fun and great work/life balance for all!
York Train station is easily accessible, the hotel is a 12 minute walk from the Train Station. There are plenty of drop off points all throughout York for bus routes in and out of the city, with a main bus route running past the hotel on Walmgate.

Role in our Family

Within Front Of House Team Leader, key to your role is:

  • To operate the hotel reception during your shifts
  • Follow Brand standards and procedures
  • Deliver the best customer service, with a 'can do ' attitude
  • Accurately process and communicate to guests via email and external websites
  • To clearly communicate with other departments to ensure minimal impact on guest service
  • To promote Brand Loyalty and encourage guests to sign up to the loyalty program
  • To enhance the guest experience through knowledge and understanding of the local area, using Indigo Neighbourhood story
  • Be readily available for the teams and hotel guests, and work with the Management to ensure a high level of quality for all services
  • To monitor shift procedures, ensuring checklists are completed in the correct manner and that they are consistent
  • Carry out Duty Management shifts
  • Assist in Food & Beverage department
