ABOUT THE ROLE
The Velvet by Salvatore Calabrese Head Mixologist is responsible for leading the cocktail program at the Velvet Bar, overseeing the preparation and creation of innovative cocktails, and ensuring the highest standards of mixology and guest service. This position requires a creative and experienced mixologist who is passionate about crafting unique and high-quality beverages while mentoring and guiding the bar team. The Velvet Head Mixologist will collaborate with the Bar Manager to maintain the bar’s signature style and uphold the standards of luxury and service that define the Velvet Bar.
ABOUT YOU
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a mixologist in a high-end bar or luxury hospitality setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktails, and other beverages, with a creative flair for developing new drinks and perfecting classic cocktails.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of bartenders or mixologists, with strong leadership and training skills.
- Excellent guest service skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide personalized recommendations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and consistency.
- Advanced mixology skills, with a thorough understanding of cocktail preparation, presentation, and beverage trends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team and collaborate with colleagues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, even under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Passion for mixology and a continuous desire to innovate and improve the guest experience.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Certification in Mixology or Bartending is highly desirable.
- Food safety and hygiene certification is required.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service is a plus.
- First Aid or Health and Safety certification is advantageous.
