Head Kitchen Porter


Kitchen porters are an essential role, who primarily ensure the chefs have the tools to meet the guest needs. It is a great role for anyone who wants to gain experience in a kitchen setting.

Salary: £27,000

What the role will involve

• Manage a team of hard-working individuals to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and efficiency is achieved
• Work the pot wash, making sure that all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are correctly cleaned
• Ensure all team members follow strict scheduling for training and development
• Correctly dispose of all food and general waste produced by the kitchen
• Help keep the bin stores organised
• Ensure all daily and weekly tasks are completed to the highest standard by the team
• Be flexible to jump into any roll within the kitchen when needed
• Contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues

What you can bring to the role

• Outstanding hygiene standards are essential
• Certificate in elementary food hygiene would be desirable
• Team player
• Strong organisational skills
• Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
