Job Description
As a Chef de Partie, you will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking nutritious, high-quality meals that support the wellbeing of our young people, with attention to dietary needs and food safety.
Showcasing your culinary creativity and attention to detail in both preparation and presentation.
Keeping the kitchen running smoothly with strong organisation and time management.
Communicating clearly with colleagues across the kitchen and wider school community to ensure a seamless service.
Bringing a genuine passion for great food and customer satisfaction to everything you do.
Helping to maintain a safe, clean kitchen by following all relevant health and safety standards.
Contributing to menu planning, offering fresh ideas that reflect current food trends while staying nutritious and balanced.
Working as part of a supportive, experienced team that values professionalism and collaboration.
Being flexible and adaptable to the needs of a boarding school, including working one evening per week (until 7pm) and the occasional Saturday.
Holding a valid driver’s licence and access to a car, as the school’s location requires reliable transport.
Qualifications
We’re seeking someone who brings both experience and enthusiasm to the role. The ideal candidate will have:
A strong background in educational catering, with a proven ability to deliver high standards in this specialised setting.
A progressive career in the culinary world, showing continuous learning, growth, and dedication to excellence.
A good understanding of current food trends and how to translate them into nutritious, appealing menus for young people.
A genuine passion for food and a commitment to providing exceptional service every day.
Solid knowledge of Health & Safety practices and how to apply them confidently in a busy kitchen environment.
Experience working with Food Management Systems, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Confidence in managing allergy protocols with care and precision, including ingredient control and preventing cross-contamination.
Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to juggle tasks effectively and keep service running smoothly.
