We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our business and work at one of our highly prestigious education settings.
Beechwood Park is an independent school that caters for day pupils and boarders from nursery to prep school with 40 boarders and 446 Pupils.
In addition to boarding breakfast we have an additional breakfast service and is approximately 30 covers per day and also a wrap around care supper in the evening.
With a reasonable amount of hospitality across the school, this is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Catering Manager to make a name for themselves within our contract catering company and be a part of setting the new standard for education catering.
Job Description
As a Catering Manager your focus is to work closely with your teams to develop a great work relationship and together to provide the best customer service.
As well as having an excellent presentation, organisational and communication skills, you will be able to demonstrate a real passion for food & service and possess bags of enthusiasm.
- Collaborate with the back of house team to help develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
- Prepare and manage the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
- Establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers and faculty.
- Recruit, train, supervise and motivate catering staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and quality control protocols.
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and improvement in menu offerings, service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Have worked in a similar environment at a management level
- Be a proven, hands-on leader, able to invest in your team and their development
- Be naturally outgoing and vibrant, display a real passion for food and customer service
- Have excellent Health & Safety knowledge
- Be financially astute with a strong understanding of GP calculations
- Strong IT literacy with experience using Microsoft Office
- Be innovative and creative and driven by excellence
- Stay up to date with current food trends
- Ability to lead a team and strive for the highest standards at all times
