About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Intervention Officer to join a specialist domestic abuse intervention service. This is a crucial role that requires a confident, professional and trauma-informed practitioner to support victims of domestic abuse and, where appropriate, engage with perpetrators.
The role demands a proactive, multi-agency approach and requires both innovation and resilience in reducing harm and promoting safety. The service takes a holistic, pragmatic, and evidence-based stance in addressing gender-based violence and wider safeguarding concerns.
Key Responsibilities-
Undertake complex casework involving victims, families, and perpetrators where appropriate

Conduct assertive outreach and community-based visits to engage hard-to-reach service users

Develop and implement risk-informed, outcome-focused intervention plans

Provide written and verbal reports for courts, panels and internal forums

Collaborate effectively with statutory and voluntary partners to reduce risk and promote safeguarding

Chair and participate in multi-agency case reviews and contribute to professional meetings

Deliver training and share expertise with colleagues and external professionals

Maintain accurate case records using ICT systems and contribute to ongoing service development

Recognised qualification in social work (HCPC/SWE registered) or equivalent relevant qualification (e.g., IDVA/DAPA)

Demonstrable experience working with victims and/or perpetrators of domestic abuse

Skilled in risk assessment, safeguarding procedures and safety planning

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities

Confidence working independently and as part of a multi-agency team

Understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and the impact of gender inequality, discrimination, and deprivation

Commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice

An enhanced DBS check is required

GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade A-C in English and Mathematics

Occasional evening work required
