Job description

We currently recruiting for a cook at a care home in the Sawbridgeworth area. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for the residents ensuring you adhere to food hygiene, COSHH and health & safety requirements. Flexible working hours available working 37 hours a week and working every other weekend.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals and snacks for the residents and staff ensuring food is nutritious, appetising and well presented.
• Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with residents dietary requirements and within budget.
• Ordering and managing stock ensuring there is adequate supplies in the kitchen at all times.
• Ensure all work surfaces and floors are kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Observe food hygiene and health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times.

Qualifications & experience required

• Qualification in professional cookery or similar qualification.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, COSHH and health & safety requirements.
• Have use of a car due to rural location
• Enjoy working in a small team of catering, care staff and residents.
