Summary of the position:

Our ideal candidate may hold an accounting qualification or have relevant and referenceable experience. Efficient and confident in accounting programs Xero or similar.


Hours:

Part Time Position: 37.5 hours per week 

Hybrid working arrangement available – minimum 2 days per week required in the office (location: Newbury).

Remuneration:

38k to 40k per annum


Essential Duties and Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Bookkeeping and Xero Support 

  • Carry out a regular in-depth review of the company's Xero accounting software to ensure that the bookkeeping has been completed accurately.

  • Check transactions have been posted to the most relevant codes, with the correct VAT rates applied.

  • Ensure both debtors and creditors lists appear to be up to date and accurate.

  • Provide feedback in relation to any issues identified and on how to improve the bookkeeping process.

  • VAT returns - to prepare and review VAT returns

  • To prepare monthly management accounts (Meeting Monthly)

  • Balance sheet reconciliation

  • Wages reconciliations

  • Fixed assets register

  • Depreciation journals

  • Prepare and submit all statutory accounts

  • Cash Flow Forecast 

  • Rolling Financial Forecasts

  • 3 months rolling cash flow forecast updated monthly

  • Monthly bank reconciliations to include, cash receipts reconciliation


Key skills:

  • Experience using accounting software similar to Xero
  • Good attention to detail to enter correct data into financial records and recognise errors
  • Experience in hospitality or multi-site businesses
  • Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, databases and accounting software such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Xero.
  • Multi-tasking and organisational skills to manage different financial duties, including the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with customers, suppliers and other employees in the accounts department.
  • Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms.
