Amazonico London is searching for a talented and passionate Pastry Sous Chef (Maternity cover) to join our dynamic pastry team in the heart of Mayfair.

Located on the iconic Berkeley Square, Amazonico brings the vibrant spirit of Latin America to life—where immersive dining, a lively atmosphere, and luxury hospitality meet in a world-class setting.

 We’re now seeking a skilled Pastry Sous Chef (Maternity Cover) to join us full-time on a fixed 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate thrives in high-energy, high-end environments and is ready to lead and inspire excellence within our pastry kitchen.

About the Role – What You’ll Do  

As a Pastry Sous Chef at Amazonico, you’ll lead the pastry section alongside the Head Pastry Chef, ensuring every dessert and pastry is executed to perfection. You'll support the team in delivering exceptional quality while mentoring junior chefs and maintaining high standards across the section.

You will:

  • Oversee the preparation and execution of all pastry and dessert items
  • Maintain consistency and presentation in line with Amazonico standards
  • Support and lead the pastry team during service and prep
  • Train and develop junior pastry chefs
  • Ensure food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness are upheld at all times
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
  • Collaborate on menu development and seasonal specials
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or strong Senior Pastry Chef de Partie in a premium or luxury venue
  • Advanced pastry and dessert preparation skills with a creative edge
  • Excellent leadership, time management, and organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for presentation and quality
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a collaborative mindset
