Job Description
As the Deputy General Manager
We are seeking a dynamic Deputy General Manager to support the General Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations at a high-profile legal client site. This hands-on leadership role requires strong financial acumen, excellent organisational skills, and experience managing large, diverse teams.
Working closely with the senior operations team, a talented brigade of chefs, and a target-driven front-of-house team, the DGM will help deliver flawless service and exceptional food and drink experiences.
The ideal candidate will be confident, commercially aware, and capable of maintaining exceptional standards within a fast-paced, client-focused environment. They will build strong relationships with clients, understand briefs clearly, and execute every detail with consistency, quality, and a human touch.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the General Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations, acting as second-in-command and stepping up in their absence.
Uphold full compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies, including but not limited to: the Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and GDPR.
Deliver and monitor comprehensive staff training to maintain high standards of service and operational excellence, including casual and agency workers.
Work collaboratively with chefs and service leads to ensure flawless delivery of food and drink, maintaining exceptional service standards throughout.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding briefs and executing them to the highest standard with care and precision.
Support commercial performance by contributing to sales growth, budget management, and cost control in line with business targets.
Develop and maintain a positive team culture that encourages accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- You thrive on getting the best out of people and maximising commercial opportunities
- You draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting a team
- You provide a professional catering service, ensuring that company standards are maintained and that Client expectations are met
- Have experience in a similar role, ideally in contract catering or hospitality
- Good understanding of report writing and financial management.
- Possess excellent supervisory and communication skills
- Good delegation and influencing skills
- Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving
- Have the ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
