KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and own the sales and marketing plan that accurately interprets the objectives of the hotel and maps out the actions and strategies required within the marketplace to support the positioning of the hotel.
- Work with the hotel revenue team, supported by the General Manager, to continuously align and devise strategies and tactics to retain and grow the business, supporting revenue maximisation.
- Continuously research competitor properties to obtain market and rate intelligence and an understanding of business trends, the competition and their key accounts, to identify potential business to target. Work with the hotel on adapting products and services to match client requirements and business trends
- Attend Hotel Commercial meetings, Sales Reviews and Business Reviews as necessary. Have ownership and responsibility for agreed outputs from these meetings.
- Support the preparation of the annual budgets for the hotel in areas of responsibility. Take ownership and have responsibility for driving and delivering the agreed strategies in line with the hotel sales and marketing plan.
- Actively seek/identify, secure and contract new and repeat business for all areas of the business, across all market segments, with a particular emphasis on the corporate, meeting and events and banqueting segments.
- Manage and penetrate new accounts to secure business and in turn increase market share.
- Prepare account development plans for hotel’s key accounts to ensure plan to gain maximum share from each account.
- Identify and target local leisure attractions to develop mutually beneficial affiliations and partnerships.
- Manage and implement the hotel’s local social media strategy and activity.
- Ensure the hotel’s online presence, including the brand.com website and all third-party sites are kept updated.
- Maximise local PR opportunities when appropriate.
- Engage with the full hotel team to ensure a sales culture is embedded throughout the hotel, to gain their support and assistance in identifying sales leads. Provide regular feedback, share, recognise and celebrate successes and set new targets/activities.
- Work with the General Manager and key hotel team members to strengthen current relationships within the local community. Represent the hotel at seminars, business events etc. to maximise networking opportunities to raise the profile/awareness of the hotel.
- Manage relationships with local attractions and venues to maximise opportunities for joint working.
- Review and manage the sales budget/P&L and allocated expenditure to ensure most effective use of funds available. Evaluate ROI for all sales expenditure.
- Maximise use of all distribution systems / channels and marketing tools.
- Ensure good working relationships with all colleagues in your department and hotel.
- Be aware of and comply with all company and hotel rules/standards as laid out in the TROO team member handbook.
- Complete all online training within the required timeframe and attend training as and when required.
- Present yourself well-groomed and in full uniform as per the company standard.
- Understand and adhere to the company cash and key policy, health and safety policy and fire safety procedures at all times.
- Understand and adhere to the company food safety policy and allergen procedure as laid out by the hotel and company.
- Understand and deliver excellent TROO service standards at all times.
- Operate IT systems in line with company standards where required.
- Be fully aware of and observe correct and current liquor licensing laws.
