Brain Injury Support Worker

Support Worker Opportunity – Kingsteignton – £14.79/hr 

Location: Kingsteignton, Devon

Shift Pattern: Every other Sunday and occasional Saturdays

(24-hour shifts + bank cover and annual leave cover as needed)

Must have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Are you a compassionate and dependable brain injury support worker looking to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? We are seeking a dedicated brain injury support worker for a 24-hour shift (8:00 AM–8:00 AM) to support a client living with a brain injury. Although this is a 24-hour role, overnight support is generally only required if the client needs assistance using the bathroom.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a brain injury support worker to provide one-on-one care at home and out in the community, helping the client maintain independence, safety, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support with daily routines and personal care
• Attend a local day centre (board games, cooking)
• Accompany the client to hydrotherapy sessions and family visits
• Be available overnight to ensure safe bathroom access if needed

The client follows a regular routine, preferring to be in bed by 6:30 PM and usually asleep by 9:00 PM. Overnight needs are minimal, focused on fall prevention and safety.

About You:

• Experience as a brain injury support worker or in a similar role is preferred
• Calm, kind, and attentive, especially during times of fatigue or confusion
• Comfortable providing care over a full 24-hour period, including overnight supervision
