Right on the waterfront and next to the Excel exhibition center, the hotel is only a 12 minute tube ride from Central London.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Sales to lead the sales efforts for our Double Tree by Hilton Excel.

The focus is on acquiring and cultivating business from initially from the ExCel Exhibition Centre and other partners. Then through other sales streams. This role involves close collaboration not only with departments like revenue management, analytics, and reservations but also with key hotel functions, including operations, guest services, groups and events. The Director of Sales ensures that agreed sales strategies are seamlessly integrated into the overall hotel operations, enhancing both revenue and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a warm, approachable demeanour, working cohesively with the broader company sales team and brand partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the hotel market, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Liaise closely with the revenue management, analytics, and reservations departments to ensure efficient knowledge of systems such as Opera, and Delphi.
• Work with revenue management to use benchmarking tools such as STR, and other analytics tools. Hoteligence and agency 360 to understand market trends and competitor positioning, adapting sales strategies to optimize revenue and market share.
• Lead proactive and reactive sales efforts across all sales channels, business travel, events, and reservations, utilising CRM system (Monday.com) and Delphi to manage and track business development.
• Collaborate with the marketing and regional/brand teams to implement marketing campaigns.
• Manage budgets and create specific promotions and campaigns in collaboration with departments using revenue tools for financial planning and forecasting.
• Build strong partnerships with Group Agents, TMCs, Consortia to increase property visibility and attract affluent clients.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, or related field preferred and or 4+ years of sales experience in hospitality, with proficiency in systems, benchmarking tools, Analytic tools, and CRM.

Skills & Expertise

• Proven experience in developing focused sales strategies in collaboration with internal teams like revenue management and marketing, targeting partnership clients and other sales streams.
• Warm and personable communication style, capable of building long-term relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
• Collaboration: Strong ability to work closely across the hotel departments and with a larger company’s sales team, demonstrating teamwork.
• Systems knowledge: Proficiency in industry-standard systems and benchmarking tools such as STR, Travel Click, Branded Systems and the GDS to effectively manage sales segments and markets. Proficient in budgeting and financial management, using tools such as Tableau, Hotel Budget, P&L to forecast, plan, and track revenue.
• Team leadership: Ability to lead and motivate across a team, setting clear goals and tracking performance to achieve results.
• Expertise in: Negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, luxury-focused environment.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead high-performing sales ethos by setting and working to clear goals via KPIs, and KPOs relating to the overall financial plan of the hotels.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration across the hotels departments, and larger company with key specialists like revenue management, sales, and analytics.
