Job Description

The Grand, York is proud to be Yorkshire’s only five-star hotel, and we’re currently looking for an exceptional Doorman to join our Front of House team. Reporting to the Head Concierge, you will play a key role in delivering a warm, authentic Yorkshire welcome and providing our guests with a memorable first impression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel, offering a professional and friendly greeting.
• Maintain the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel entrance.
• Assist guests with vehicles, including helping them in and out of cars or taxis.
• Handle the accurate, courteous delivery and collection of luggage, parcels, and mail.
• Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles as required.
• Provide local knowledge and recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
• Uphold the highest standards of appearance and customer service at all times.

What We're Looking For:

• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
• A confident, friendly personality with excellent communication skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and a strong sense of teamwork.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Previous experience in a similar front-facing role is desirable, but not essential.
• A good knowledge of York and the surrounding area would be a distinct advantage.

Your presence sets the tone for our five-star service and reflects our commitment to professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail.
