Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating First Tier Tribunals Section Renewal and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, this will see you prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings. 

As a Mental Health Act Administrator, you will process hearings for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Reviews, and will be responsible for notifying all parties, obtaining reports, negotiate hearing dates and venue, and providing and processing documentation in line with MHA Code of Practice an procedures.

As a Medical Health Act Administrator you will be: 

  • Attending Managers Review Hearings in the capacity of the MHA Administrator/Clerk and ensure the review satisfies the fundamental legal requirements of fairness reasonableness and lawfulness
  • Following up MHA action points included in the Care Quality Commission reports submitted following visits to clinical areas
  • Liaising with the consultants and nursing team to update service users information regarding renewal of sections and consent to treatments
  • Providing information to service users about their access to Independent Mental Heal Advocacy Services (IMHA)

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Confidence to liaise and give advice to a wide range of people from different profession 
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislation and current case law relating to the Act

Location: Dunnock View, Tendring, Clacton-on-Sea, CO16 0BX

Dunnock View is a 42-bed service, providing treatment for men and women who may have suffered trauma and are affected by Mental Health disorders.

A trauma-informed care model is used to focus on length of stay to make sure individuals are able to move as quickly and safely as possible from the service to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them.

Service users could be suffering from Acute mental illness, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Personality Disorder, Dual diagnosis, Self-harm, Substance misuse issues.
