Berenjak is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head Chef to lead the team for our exciting restaurants set in the beautiful Al Maha Island, Qatar. This site is part of the brand’s growing global footprint and represents an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality professional looking to take their career abroad with the support of a critically acclaimed and award-winning restaurant group.
This position offers the chance to play a key role in Berenjak’s presence in the Dubai, with full training and preparation based in London before relocating. The successful candidate will be personable, passionate and operationally strong, with a hands-on leadership approach and a drive for service excellence.
The Restaurant
Awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand across two locations, Berenjak is an exciting group of Persian restaurants with three sites in the UK (Soho, Borough Market, Soho Farmhouse) and four internationally (UAE, Qatar, and New York). The menu reinterprets the classic hole-in-the-wall eateries lining the streets of Tehran, while the service style focuses on warm, genuine hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Our teams are passionate, dedicated and driven by a shared goal to deliver outstanding hospitality.
The Position
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of consistent, high quality and innovative dishes and specials; you will play a key role in menu development, working closely with the Directors. You will manage the overall kitchen operation, including prep schedules, stock control, budgeting and maintenance, as well as the day to day management of the kitchen team.
If you have the following, then we want to hear from you:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high quality Restaurant;
- Strong awareness of trends and seasonality of produce;
- A highly creative approach to your work with excellent attention to detail;
- Proven ability to manage, train and motivate a Kitchen brigade;
- Experience in managing staff costs, scheduling and reviewing staff rotas;
- Strengths in finances, purchasing and menu costing;
- A working knowledge of health and safety, compliance and procedures;
