Cook term time only

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Relief Cook to join our team at Caterlink Truro College for a term-time only position. As a Relief Cook in our college setting, you will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and delicious meals to our students and staff during the academic year across our 4 kitchens.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and cook a variety of healthy meals for students and staff, adhering to menu plans and food safety standards
• Assist in menu planning, considering dietary restrictions and allergies
• Manage food inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service, adapting to daily attendance fluctuations
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including sanitizing work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Online training sessions to stay updated on food service best practices

• Previous experience as a cook
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various food preparation techniques
• Proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Team player with excellent communication abilities
