We’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team, ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Located in the picturesque seaside town of Largs, our brand-new, purpose-built care home offers luxury living with exceptional residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for up to 80 residents.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a passionate team from the very beginning, playing a key role in creating a welcoming and nourishing environment for our residents.

What We Offer

  • £12.21 per hour
  • 40 hours per week (4 days over 7, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Pension, paid PVG, uniform provided

What You Will Do

  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing meals to a high standard
  • Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspaces
  • Delivery Handling: Receive and store kitchen deliveries
  • Food Safety: Adhere to food handling and hygiene standards
  • Cleaning Procedures: Follow cleaning protocols for kitchen equipment
  • Safe Work Practices: Ensure safety standards are met at all times
  • Team Collaboration: Support colleagues to maintain an efficient kitchen

What We’re Looking For

  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage kitchen tasks
  • Attention to Detail: Focus on cleanliness and food safety
  • Food Safety Awareness: Basic knowledge of hygiene practices
  • Communication Skills: Clear and respectful communication with the team
  • Team Player: Collaborative and adaptable in a busy environment
  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is desirable 
  • Food safety knowledge is beneficial; training will be provided
