Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members Golf and Country Clubs, famous for its outstanding three Championship golf courses, in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club. The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where many of the world’s premier golfers have their home.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Golf Course Manager to lead the maintenance and development of our world-class courses. The successful candidates will oversee the presentation and conditioning of the East, West, Edinburgh, and Academy Courses, ensuring they consistently meet the highest standards expected by our membership.

This is a permanant, full time position with a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Course Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programmes to ensure optimal course conditions year-round.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a large team (20+) of greenkeeping professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Resource Management: Oversee budgets, equipment, and resource allocation efficiently, ensuring operational effectiveness and cost control.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Mechanic, Forestry, and Irrigation teams to plan and implement maintenance programmes with minimal disruption to play. Liaise with the Club’s Agronomist to refine agronomic strategies. Build strong working relationships across departments including Golf Operations, Facilities, People & Culture, Finance, and Marketing.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations and environmental best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Manager or Deputy Course Manager at a high-profile golf club
• Strong agronomic knowledge and fine turf management expertise
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Financial acumen with hands-on experience in budget management
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A BSc in Sports Turf Science, Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or a related field is desirable
• Demonstrated experience in managing large teams
