Dakota Hotel based in Glasgow City Centre are seeking an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for beverage and cocktails for the role of Assistant Bar Manager

 

CONTRACT AND PAY RATE 

 The gross annual salary is up to £32,400 (inclusive of the anticipated tronc payment) plus an annual incentive bonus to earn up to £2,000.  


The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 40X hours per week, working any 5 days out of 7.

 

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Assist with daily management and direction to our bar tenders, bar floor team, and hosts, ensuring the highest standards of service provision at all times. 
  • Implement training plans and deliver on-the-job training to drive the smoothest, most polished levels of service. 
  • Carry out beverage product-based training and work to continuously improve the teams’ knowledge to better enhance the guest experience.  
  • Develop and write rotas in line with operational needs and the forecasted revenue.   
  • Assist driving  the commercial running of the Bar operation including carrying out the stock take and placing beverage orders. 
  • Have a hands-on approach to service and hosting, driving standards at all times

We are an 83-bedroom luxury hotel boasting a destination cocktail bar, Jack’s Bar, cigar terrace, champagne room, and brasserie-style Grill. 

 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS 

 

The successful applicant will have/be: 

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a full-service cocktail bar. 
  • At least 1 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a full-service Bar.  
  •  Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively train others and foster a team culture of continuous improvement  
  • Experience in running Bar services and carrying out cash up 
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wines and spirits is essential.  
  • An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.  

  • Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail. 

  • Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of our business.  

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of our team.
