Set in the heart of the picturesque Fowey, our luxury family hotel is nestled along the stunning Cornish coastline, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. We are dedicated to providing our guests with an exceptional experience, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate gardener to join our team and help us maintain the lush, immaculate grounds of our hotel.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable gardener to join our team and take pride in the upkeep and development of our beautiful hotel gardens. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a deep passion for horticulture, as well as the expertise to work with a variety of garden machinery and tools to maintain the grounds to the highest standards.

This a permanent role, at 40 hours per week (including weekends), with an annual salary of £30,500, plus generous service charge and a brilliant benefit package.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and enhance the hotel’s expansive gardens, ensuring all areas are well-kept and visually appealing.
- Carry out regular tasks including mowing, planting, weeding, pruning, and landscaping.
- Ensure all garden machinery is properly maintained and used efficiently.
- Oversee seasonal changes in the garden and assist with the upkeep of fruit trees and orchard areas.
- Assist with any garden-based projects or improvements as required by the hotel.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

- RHS Level 2 and 3 Qualifications in Horticulture (or equivalent) are essential.
- PA1 and PA6 qualifications for the safe use of pesticides are required.
- A good working knowledge of garden machinery and tools, with the ability to use them safely and effectively.

Desirable (but not essential):

- Chainsaw qualification (Cross cutting, maintenance, and small felling).
- Woodchipper ticket.
- Experience in orchard and fruit tree care.
