Middle Eight is a new, 180 room lifestyle luxury hotel with purpose in Covent Garden. Until recently, this address was home to one of the country’s foremost recording venues. The hotel reflects the performance culture of Covent Garden and adds to it through performance spaces of its own.

We are looking for a welcoming, professional, and service-focused Doorman to be the first point of contact for our guests, delivering a warm and memorable arrival experience. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will ensure a seamless guest journey while upholding the highest standards of hospitality and security.

Your role:

We take pride in providing an exceptional guest experience from the moment they arrive. As a Doorman, you will be the face of the hotel, offering a warm welcome, assisting guests with their luggage, and ensuring smooth arrivals and departures.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting guests with a warm and professional welcome upon arrival and departure
  • Assisting guests with luggage and providing directions or recommendations as needed
  • Opening doors, hailing taxis, and coordinating with valet or transport services
  • Ensuring the entrance and surrounding areas remain presentable and inviting at all times
  • Assisting with security by monitoring guest access and reporting any concerns to the appropriate teams
  • Offering a high level of service by anticipating guest needs and providing thoughtful assistance
  • Supporting the front office and concierge teams in delivering a seamless guest experience

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details and trusting

The core skills and experience required to succeed:

  • Confident, courteous, and service-oriented with a friendly demeanor
  • Previous experience in a similar front-of-house or customer-facing role preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a professional and approachable attitude
  • Good knowledge of local attractions, transport options, and hotel services
  • Physically capable of assisting with luggage and standing for extended periods
  • Passionate about delivering an exceptional hospitality experience

You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
