Role Description

As a Management Accountant, reporting into the Group Head of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes, providing accurate reporting, and delivering insightful financial analysis to support business decision-making. This is a 12-month maternity cover contract, offering a hands-on opportunity that requires strong attention to detail.

Collaboration is key - you’ll work closely with the various teams, as well as central finance, to align financial planning with business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, high-performing and fast-paced, finance function within a thriving hospitality and events business.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations and Events teams to develop action plans that improve margins and drive profitability, optimise labour and overhead costs and improve cost management processes

  • Proactively work with KERB’s central finance team, operations and clients to ensure the invoiced debt is collected

  • Provide training to operational teams on financial reporting to improve performance and accuracy

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and sharing findings with the Head of Finance / wider finance team.

  • Ensure costs are accurately captured and recorded in the correct periods

  • Ensure all revenue is captured and recorded and that cash controls are in place

  • Achievement of forecasts and budgets and relevant KPI’s

  • Support robust forecasting and budgeting processes to set challenging and achievable goals

  • Contribute to system-driven business intelligence development

  • Assist with the preparation of the weekly and monthly profit and loss accounts

  • Preparing schedules and reports as required including;

    • Supporting the Head of Finance with KPI reporting

    • Assisting with weekly and monthly reporting to relevant stakeholders

    • Assisting in developing and improving the Management Information Pack

    • Cost/Margin and Profitability Analysis

    • Provides input to the financial evaluation of business cases

Requirements and skills

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role within the hospitality industry.

  • Strong proficiency in financial data analysis, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and Google Workspace

  • Experience with accounting software such as SAP (or equivalent), with advanced Excel skills 

  • Highly numerate and organised, capable of managing complex financial information efficiently

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of finance functions

  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive data and information

Desired but not essential

  • Knowledge of broader financial tools and systems that enhance reporting and analysis efficiency

  • Experience in driving process improvements and implementing new financial systems or tools
