We are looking to hire a Commercial Finance Business Partner to help us 'share the joy of Italian dining'. This position is based within our Support Centre in Old Street, Central London. The ideal person will be located within easily commutable distance, as there is a requirement to be in the Support Centre 2 or 3 days a week. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset.
Our Role:
The Commercial Finance Business Partner is vital role in the organisation supporting decisions all key decisions on Product, Price and Promotion. Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this role will involve close collaboration with Food Director, Marketing Director and CFO ensuring that business decisions are data-driven and aligned with financial goals. How We Work
- Menu Performance: Deliver detailed reporting and insights on sales and margin performance, highlighting key trends across the estate to inform menu development. Act as a strategic partner to the Food Director, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Menu Pricing: Build and maintain financial models to support strategic pricing decisions for new menus, set menus, and site-specific pricing where needed. Provide a broad market view by analyzing competitor pricing at both national and local levels. Work closely with the CFO to optimize pricing strategy.
- Sales Mix & Revenue Streams: Be the go-to expert on sales mix, tracking performance across full-paying customers, in-house promotions, and external partners. Develop reporting to assess the effectiveness and profitability of each revenue stream, supporting initiatives to drive covers and maximize spend per customer.
- Customer Lifetime Value & Marketing Impact: Create reporting that tracks customer lifetime value by segment, helping to refine marketing strategies for both short- and long-term growth. Partner with the Marketing Director to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Customer Spend Metrics: Monitor and analyze key spend metrics—including Average Selling Price (ASP), Drinks Per Cover (DPC), Courses Per Cover (CPC), and Spend Per Cover (SPC)—to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Business Planning & Forecasting: Support the Head of FP&A in the annual budget process, particularly in setting gross margin targets, pricing strategies, and customer metrics to drive commercial success.
- Efficiency & Automation: Continuously seek opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation and efficiency initiatives, ensuring insights are delivered faster and more accurately.
Experience We Value
- Being a fully qualified accountant is essential for this role.
- Proven experience in pricing, promotions, or financial analysis within a commercial environment.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and turn insights into strategy.
- Experience working closely with senior stakeholders to influence key decisions.
- Hospitality or multi-site business experience (a plus, but not essential!).
- Proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills—able to present data in a clear, compelling way.
- A problem-solving mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes and drive commercial growth.
