Spinal Injury Support Worker - Nights

We have an excellent opportunity for a female support worker to work nights alongside our client in Llandudno, Conwy.

Our client is a male in his late 20's who has complex needs due to spinal injury, including partial paralysis, limited arm & hand function, autonomic dysreflexia, and catheter/bowel care. He lives in his own accommodation with his golden retriever puppy and enjoys dog walking, mountain biking, 90's music, road trips, care events and has an active social life.    Due to the client’s support needs the successful candidate will need to be female, have some experience working with complex needs and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship. Independence is very important to our client so experience supporting maintenance in that area are key.

Pay: £15.14 - £18.49 per hour

Hours: 36 per week over three days (Nights, 20:00 - 08:00)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting, and engaging with personalised routines inclusive of hoists.
• Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
• Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
• Providing emotional support and companionship.
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
• Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
• To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
