Job Description

The purpose of Operations Manager is to inspire and deliver the Hotel’s operational objectives by leading from the front with a hands-on approach, establishing a stimulating and fulfilling work environment for the team and providing exceptional customer service in line with required Company and Marriott brand standards.

About Us

The Four Points Express by Sheraton is the first of its kind in the UK and is the newest addition to the Splendid Hospitality Group portfolio. The hotel is Located in the heart of Euston, London, our goal is to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team and help us achieve this vision.

Role in our Family

As Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Manage the smooth operation of all hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance. Ensure that the hotel operations runs smoothly in the absence of the General Manager.

People

• Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers

• Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance

• Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards the Company and the Marriot brand expects and have the tools they need to work efficiently

• Recommend or initiate any people related actions where needed

• Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create sense of one team

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel staff; assist the General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures

• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management

Financial

• Help the General Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel.

• Provide regular direction and manage hotel operations for all departments.

• Monitor and report variances against budget and control labour costs and other expenses.

• Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty

• Foster positive owner relationships if applicable and assist in providing ongoing information and status reports

Guest Experience

• Interacts with guests and other customers on a frequent basis to obtain feedback about their experiences on property

• Utilises guest/customer feedback to recognise outstanding employee service performance and improve service delivery

• Emphasises and holds departmental team accountable for addressing service failures or potential service failures

• Developing innovative ways to exceed guest expectations

• Anticipates needs of large groups or high-profile guests in order to deliver flawless service

Company/Brand Policy, Procedures, and Standards Compliance

• Works with the General Manager to verify property compliance with legal, safety, operations, and Marriott brand product and service standards

• Conducts detailed walk-throughs to ensure building, public areas, kitchen, and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and meet or exceed guest expectations

• Validates that employees are appropriately trained and performing to standard as required by the Company and Marriott brand standards.
