Operational Events Coordinator
Opening in early 2025, The Standard, Brussels, marks the hotel brand's third outpost in Europe. Set in the city's Northern Quarter, The Standard, Brussels brings the brand's design, culture and activation-driven philosophy to Belgium.
With 180 guestrooms (plus 20 residences), the modern, new-build project features many stages for The Standard's renowned day- and nightlife. A ground-floor greenhouse welcomes guests and locals into the lobby lounge, restaurant, and terrace. Upstairs, The Rooftop features its own restaurant, bar and garden—set to become a neighborhood destination. Throughout the building, additional public and private event spaces are platforms for happenings.
The Standard, Brussels will welcome a new set of creative, dynamic guests into the brand ethos. In Brussels, The Standard's signature mix of playful, sophisticated, unexpected hospitality finds roots and resonances in local culture. The simple premise behind The Standard is that it is anything but. Founded in 1999, the goals of every Standard are to up the aesthetic stakes and defy convention while attending to every detail, embracing our local communities, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for our teams and, of course, delivering a smashing good time for our guests.
We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle and are now looking for an Operational Events Coordinator who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos as we commence our pre-opening period.
Your Role
The Operational Events Coordinator serves as the crucial link between the sales team and the execution of events by the F&B department, ensuring a seamless transition from planning to delivery. This role takes full ownership of the client meeting rooms, overseeing their preparation, setup, and overall maintenance to meet both client expectations and hotel standards. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, the coordinator collaborates closely with the sales team to understand client needs, preferences, and contractual agreements. They maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the planning and execution stages, ensuring all details are aligned, and any concerns are addressed promptly.
In addition to managing meeting room spaces, the Operational Events Coordinator ensures the spaces are consistently maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. They coordinate with internal departments such as catering, audiovisual, housekeeping, and maintenance to guarantee that all event requirements are met. This includes monitoring event timelines, resolving last-minute changes or issues, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations during the event itself.
As the end-responsible party for the client experience, the Operational Events Coordinator is dedicated to exceeding expectations, addressing feedback with a solutions-oriented mindset, and ensuring client satisfaction at every stage. They also play a key role in gathering and analyzing feedback post-event to identify areas for improvement. The position requires close collaboration with sales, F&B operations, and management teams to ensure alignment on objectives and to provide detailed reports on event outcomes, successes, and recommendations for future enhancements.
