We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team at Manor House School. This full-time, term-time position primarily involves working Monday to Friday, with shifts from 06:45 AM to 02:30 PM. The role also requires occasional evening shifts to cover for the boarding chefs' days off, and one Saturday per year. The role is for 182 days a year, with some catering for lettings during school holidays that may involve rare weekend work.

Job Description

As well as having an excellent presentation, organisational and communication skills, you will be able to demonstrate a real passion for food & service and possess bags of enthusiasm.

  • Assist with craftimaginative and nutritionally balanced menus that cater to diverse tastes, dietary preferences, and nutritional needs of our students with the head chef and Chef Manager
  • Work within a kitchen team and fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and efficiency.
  • Assist the head chef with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • To help maintain budgets, as well as stock control.

 



Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent) (essential)
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a senior kitchen role (Senior CdP or Sous Chef)
  • Strong background in leading small teams and mentoring junior chefs
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and health & safety regulations
  • Experience in menu planning and controlling food costs
  • Passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative cooking techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a calm and efficient kitchen
