Role Summary
The Bar Supervisor will be responsible for the running, organization, training, and leadership of a food & beverage floor within The Conduit in order to achieve the objectives in sales, costs, guest service and satisfaction. You will support the Director of Bars & Beverage and develop a close working relationship with all teams within The Conduit.
Key Responsibilities
Management
• Oversee the implementation of new beverage ideas and menu specifications as per Director of Bars & Beverage guidelines. Provide ideas encouraging input from bartenders and other team members.
• Build strong working relationships with all Conduit stakeholders.
• Be an Ambassador of the Conduit – spokesperson, advocate, and supporter.
Guest
• Consistently achieve an elevated level of customer satisfaction by exhibiting a positive attitude and building trust, ensuring commitments are met and expectations are exceeded by understanding client’s needs and priorities.
• To recognize repeat members and guests ensures we understand all their requirements and preferences, ensuring that the clients feel valued.
• Maintain up to date records on guest history and preferences and provide timely and regular feedback to other departments if needed.
Team
• Provide advice, direction, and leadership to all department employees so they understand The Conduit’s philosophy, objectives, and practice good stewardship.
• Ensure the floor is organized and runs smoothly, ensuring the highest possible quality of service. Be present on the floor and engage with members, guests, and staff.
• Assist with the creation of SOPs and manuals.
• To assist with continuous staff training and development, the upsell of food and beverage, and to continuously monitor and check standards of work throughout the service and make improvements/correct when necessary.
• Ensure staff are trained in and adhere to all safety, sanitation, food preparation, and alcohol beverage control policies including confirming legal drinking age and discontinuing service to intoxicated guests.
Finance
• Liaise with the F&B and purchasing team to manage appropriate stock levels.
• Ensure the EPOS and inventory systems is up to date and accurate.
• A close follow-up on the correct setting of and adherence to necessary par stock.
• To liaise with the F&B team with regards to staffing levels and other expenses, keeping close control of labor costs in relation to business levels
• To ensure accurate handling of cash and adherence to all financial procedures as outlined by the Financial Controller
• Executes inventory control for weekly/monthly analysis and reconciliation. Identifies opportunities to control beverage costs and other expenses.
Health & Safety
• To uphold good housekeeping practices (i.e., neat, and correct storage), clean and organized FOH and BOH areas
• Ensure all hygiene standards are met and inspect bar cleanliness daily.
• Ensure proper care of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Malfunctions and damage is
reported to Maintenance department with appropriate follow up.
• Comply with all statutory and company health and safety, fire, bomb, and security regulations as well as liquor and licensing laws.
Qualifications & Requirements
· 3+ years of relevant work experience in high-end, high-volume bars, restaurants, or clubs
· Excellent written and oral communication
· Passion for beverage, mixology and for delivering an excellent guest experience.
· Natural leadership abilities
· Knowledge and understanding of SOL & EPOS systems.
· Health & Safety knowledge.
