Hours: 910 hours a year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
This will be worked on a basis of roughly 3 days a week March-October and 1 day a week November-February, although the actual split may vary slightly. Shifts will be 8-4, including some weekend and Bank Holiday working.
Salary: The hourly equivalent rate is currently £11.88 but this will change in April following the increase in the National Living Wage.
Duration: Permanent
Interview date: Week commencing either 27th January or 3rd February.
Potential start date: late February/early March.
What it's like to work hereBeningbrough Hall is looking for a cook to join our kitchen team and help prepare delicious fresh food for our visitors. The role will involve baking a selection of cakes and scones, making soups and stews, and cooking a variety of light and main meals, keeping up to date with the menu offer as it changes throughout the year. Under the guidance of the chef, you will also help maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, as well as be involved in basic levels of ordering and stock counting.

What you'll be doingAs a Cook, your focus will be in the kitchen, helping to prepare and present delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors.
Using the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’, you’ll prepare, measure and mix ingredients. You’ll help with deliveries and with keeping the kitchen clean, to be compliant with health and safety legislation and to make sure that service runs smoothly.
We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
