Our Production Chef Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee both high and low-care production areas within our cutting-edge kitchen at Avalon Farm. This unique position involves managing the preparation, processing, and packaging stages, ensuring products meet The Newt’s highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will coordinate seamlessly between low and high-care sections, ensuring smooth transitions, meticulous quality control, and an efficient workflow throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee ingredient preparation, cooking, final processing, and packaging to meet precise specifications in both low and high-care areas.
  • Lead and manage production teams, ensuring they meet production schedules and adhere to all safety and quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor hygiene, food safety, and quality protocols across low and high-care zones.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product transfers between low and high-care areas.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and oversee inventory management, including timely reporting and ordering of ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet stringent specifications, documenting production outputs and food safety records.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices, from food handling and preparation to final packaging protocols.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a food production or kitchen supervisory role, ideally within both high and low-care environments.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and quality control in food production.
  • Proven team leadership skills, with experience in staff motivation, training, and workflow management.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
