Live-In Housekeeper Needed in Cambridge

Are you a dedicated and experienced Housekeeper looking for an exciting opportunity in a welcoming family environment? A busy family in Cambridge is seeking a Live-In Housekeeper to join their household.

The family consists of four children—three girls aged 7, 11, and 12, and one boy aged 4. They are active and have busy schedules, and the family values quality time spent together, especially during evening meals. The children will also have a Nanny and a Governess who will manage a lot of the workload made by the children, however the household all works together to make it run smoothly.

It is important that the housekeeper has previous housekeeping experience and a strong understanding of cleaning products and techniques. They should be a team player who communicates openly and honestly. They will need to be flexible to adapt to the family’s needs and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy household to a very high standard
  • Prepare healthy breakfast for children before they go to school
  • Assist in ordering food and household essentials
  • Clear and tidy the kitchen daily
  • Manage laundry tasks, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and ironing
  • Help keep the children’s rooms tidy (the Nanny will assist with their laundry)
  • Establish and follow a cleaning rota for different rooms
  • Receive parcels and contractors, ensuring household security when the principals are away

Bonus skills:

  • Driving license would be a bonus required; a car will be provided
  • Additional language skills are a bonus but not necessary (children speak Mandarin and English)
  • A bonus would be to Cook a meal for the family with a preference for Asian cuisine (cooking skills are a bonus, but not essential)

Start: When the right person is found

Salary: £45,000 per year

Working Hours: Minimum of five days a week, from 7 AM to 7 PM (flexible hours depending on the children’s schedules) possibility of working a Saturday or working on a Rota.
