In the heart of Wanstead you’ll find The George and Dragon, a proper local with excellent British pub food and a great range of craft beers. There’s regular live sport on the screens plus live music and social nights. With private rooms to host meetings, parties and other events, this is an amazing opportunity for a people and food focused Sous Chef to spearhead our kitchen.

Our priority lies in quality seasonal British food, we source ingredients and produce from the best suppliers to bring you a great selection of British pub classics that won’t disappoint. Our gastro menu influenced by our chefs is perfect for every occasion and there’s always something on the menu for everyone.

You Are:

• An enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Sous Chef who is ready for a new challenge.
• Able to demonstrate your experience of working with fresh ingredients and seasonal menus.
• Able to demonstrate experience of working in a professional kitchen showing a clear understanding of Health and Safety.
• Able to show a proven track record of managing the kitchen and controlling stock and GP.
• Someone with a background of dealing with high volume.
• Able to show technical skill and attention to detail
• Able to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
• Confident in your communication skills and ability to lead and motivate their teams.
• Experienced in opening a new site is beneficial
