Job Overview:

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production line, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. You will lead a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

The Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing a team to ensure efficient and effective operations within a department or organization. You will be responsible for guiding, supervising, and motivating team members to achieve performance goals and deliver high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.

Set clear goals and objectives for the team and individual team members, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Monitor team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and development to existing team members to foster skill development and career growth.
  • Foster a positive work environment characterized by open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Address any issues or conflicts within the team in a timely and constructive manner, promoting resolution and maintaining team morale.
  • Serve as a point of contact between team members and management, relaying information, concerns, and feedback as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations, and promote adherence to safety standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments or teams to achieve cross-functional objectives and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on team performance, progress towards goals, and any relevant issues or challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a food production environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.
  • Relevant qualifications in food production, manufacturing, or a related field are preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with production labelling software systems will be advantage.
