Full Time Role, £28,000 per Annum 

Monday- Friday 09:00-17:30, Very occasional weekends included. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic chef to bring a home cooked meal feel to our canteen. Meals should be ready for lunch service at 12pm-2pm and then dinner service from 4:30pm - 6pm.

  Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist whilst monitoring food quality.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served in order to ensure all staff are catered for and control food waste and ensure that good food is not thrown away.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Maintain high standards of internal customer satisfaction whilst ensuring the food cost is kept in line with approved budgets. 
  • Ensure the quality of the food items and notify chef if a product does not meet specifications.
  • Ensure allergens are displayed accordingly and alternative options are available 
  • On occasion to assist Banqueting with particularly busy functions.
  • Follow weekly and bi weekly staff canteen menus and assist the Executive Chef in developing the menus 

What would make you the perfect fit?

  • Chef de partie level 
  • Diploma or degree from accredited university in culinary arts or NVQ or related major
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position
