Join our dynamic Data & Analytics team at KFC where we are pioneering innovative solutions in the data space. We are looking for Data Product Owners to lead our data initiatives and drive our product vision forward. Here at KFC, we empower people to be their best selves, make a difference and have fun.
This role will be at the forefront of our data-driven initiatives, managing flexible product roadmaps that outline the steps required to bring data products to life and delivering exceptional value for our KFC and franchise community.
Whilst we’re one of the world’s biggest and most loved brands, we’re still a small tech team of people (and growing!) so it’s a great environment to get exposure to lots of different projects.
What you’ll do
- Understanding our operations including “Understanding by doing”
- Defining and benchmarking the data journeys that support decision-making activities
- Collaborating with stakeholders and prioritizing requirements; balancing the tactical with the strategic in addition to differing needs of stakeholders
- Working with the development teams to manage the product backlog and deliver on the data product roadmaps
- Ensuring that the product delivers value to customers and meets their needs
- Defining the product vision and strategy and ultimately executing against the company and data product visions.
We are reshaping our operations, creating exciting prospects for Data Product Owners eager to push new limits. KFC UKI D&A is organised into various data product teams, each of which oversees a range of services for different business functions.
- We established a clear orientation for Data Product/Services, overseen by the Product Owner and supported by a cross-functional leadership team with a Scrum Master, Data Engineering Manager, and Architect.
- The Data Product teams own the directions of the Data Product/Services and works collaboratively with the various business parties, peers and engineering to set and iterate the Strategy regularly,
- The teams work with a high-level of both autonomy and agility, and coordinate through regular syncs with peers
- The teams are responsible for quality and we take very seriously this aspect and adapt cycles with a view to continuously improving the product, service, ways of working and people
What we’d love from you
EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner, building and maintaining trust and influence within a team and with stakeholders across the business
- Technical aptitude and experience of data & analytics and cloud technologies; bonus points for experience in our stack components; which includes Matillion, Snowflake, AWS, Python, Power BI, Microstrategy
- Good technical understanding – you don’t need to be able to code but you need to know enough to have healthy debates with our brilliant engineers and architects!
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to react to change and easily determine next steps without sacrificing the long-term vision.
- Innate curiosity about how everything works and each part fits together and the ability to easily share that with others.
- Natural at keeping all relevant parties informed and has excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to break complex challenges and situations into component parts, analyse information quickly, spot patterns from various info sources and offer multiple, creative solutions when presented with a problem. Strong understanding of how consumer, competitor and company factors inform business strategy and influence sales.
- Strong experience presenting to and communicating with the KFC and Data leadership teams (and others) across the various functions using easy to understand language.
- Desirable: Scrum.org PSPO I and II; experience of Scrum scaling frameworks such as LeSS, Nexus and Flow
