The company caters more than 1,000,000 meals a week. Caterlink is seeking a friendly and efficient Catering Assistant to join our team in Newmarket, United Kingdom. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our students receive nutritionally balanced and tasty meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

• Prepare a variety of foods and snacks according to menu plans and dietary requirements
• Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas
• Assist with the set-up and clean-up of the dining area before and after meal services
• Follow food safety protocols and complete necessary food safety training
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during meal times
• Respond to students' queries and concerns in a polite and helpful manner
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive dining experience for all students
• Adapt to changing needs and priorities in a busy school catering environment

• Passion for food service and customer satisfaction
• Basic food preparation skills and willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding food safety and hygiene
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and peak service times
• Physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Willingness to complete food safety training (provided by Caterlink)
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work environment
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the well-being of students through nutritious meals
